The wait for Outkast rapper Big Boi’s solo debut album Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty, as well as a new album from the Atlanta-based duo is coming to end.
The 14-track Def Jam Recordings offering, which features appearances from T.I., Sleepy Brown and Jamie Foxx, will hit stores on July 6.
Producers for the album include Scott Storch, Boi-1da, Organized Noize, Andre 3000 and Lil Jon, among others.
The release of Sir Lucious comes amid a string of delays that raised doubts about the project.
Despite the release of four singles (the 3000 and Raekwon-assisted “Royal Flush,” “Sumthin’s Gotta Give featuring Mary J. Blige, “Ringtone” and “Dubbz”) and leaked collaborations with 3000 and Brown (“Looking for You”), George Clinton and Too Short (“Fo Yo Sorrows”), Gucci Mane (“Shine Blockas”) and T.I. (“Tambourine”), Sir Lucious was never made available to the public.
Shortly after the album summer release, Big Boi will appear at the Pitchfork Music Festival. The event, will take place during the July 16-18 weekend in Union Park in Chicago.
In addition to Sir Lucious, plans to unleash the follow-up to Outkast ’s 2006 opus, the soundtrack to the film Idlewid, will resume. Big Boi confirmed to Billboard.com that the long-awaited album will be released after Sir Lucious.
VH1’s “VH1 Hip Hop Honors” will return for a seventh time this June with a tribute to Southern Hip-Hop music.
Rappers Jermaine Dupri, J. Prince of Rap-A-Lot Records, 2Live Crew and Luther “Luke” Campbell will be honored during the ceremonies, which will tape June 3rd.
All three men have established ground breaking Hip-Hop labels, which have sold tens of millions of records over the years.
Jermaine Dupri founded Atlanta’s So So Def imprint in 1993, J-Prince launched Rap-A-Lot in 1986 and Luke Campbell started Luke Skyywalker Records in 1985.
Both J Prince and Campbell helped break down the barriers of censorship in Hip-Hop music during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.
Campbell’s case involving his usage of Roy Orbison’s “Pretty Woman” went all the way to the Supreme Court, where the rapper won a victory, when a judge ruled a parody of a record can qualify as “fair use.”
“I am happy for my fans, they have sent the people that run the VH1 Hip Hop Honors show emails for years now, asking why a person that started his own record label and went to the Supreme Court can’t get honored, so I am happy for them,” Campbell told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive statement.
Others being recognized for their contributions to Hip-Hop during the evening include Master P. who founded the groundbreaking No Limit Records imprint, as well as Atlanta production team Organized Noise.
While Luke was happy about being honored, the outspoken rapper was a bit upset that his recognition comes so late into the annual VH1 Hip Hop Honors franchise.
“We are the outcasts on that day, the outcasts will get their five minutes. I am sure the show will be about the others,” Campbell told AllHipHop.com. “My fans are the only reason I am doing this. I said f**k this after they did Too Short before me.”
VH1’s Hip Hop Honors airs June 7th at 9:00 PM ET.
Jen’s creepy ex hubby Ojani Noa is filing for bankruptcy, and when he does, literally hours upon hours of “racy” home videos featuring the singer-slash-actress will be up for public auction!!!!
Sources say Noa can “force the federal bankruptcy trustee to sell his share of the Jennifer Lopez ‘racy’ home videos, plus hundreds and hundreds of unseen and ‘racy’ candid still photos of JLo, and Ojani’s tell-all book manuscript about JLo at a public bankruptcy auction, to the highest bidder.”
Apparently because the vids and photos will be up for public auction, it’ll push Lopez’ lawsuit from the California Court of Appeal and “up to the Federal Bankruptcy Court, where the case will be fast tracked, and Ojani can force Jennifer Lopez onto the witness stand in open court within 60 days.”
Last weekend, Heather Locklear was arrested for plowing into a “no parking” sign in Westlake, CA and then running for her freedom. As she is still on probation from a previous reckless driving misdemeanor charge from 2008, if she is found guilty of the mowing over the sign, she can get up to 90 days in jail for breaking her probation!
Yikes!
But first, they have to conclude beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was her who did it. Then, if they do, she gets to sit in the slammer for three months.
Here’s hoping you had the sense to keep your car on the road, Heather! (We doubt that you did!)

Elin Nordegren took off to Sweden with the kids on Monday to spend time with family and friends and make some serious decisions about her marriage to Tiger Woods.
As for Tiger, he went out on Monday night with friends in Orlando. With Elin’s latest trip to Sweden, they’ve only spent three nights in the same city this past month.
No divorce papers have been filed, but we think it’s definitely on the horizon.
It’s obvious she doesn’t want to spend any time with him, which friends have confirmed, and we think she should just get out already!
Nadya Suleman AKA The Octomom appeared on Oprah yesterday to clear the air about her decision to have 8 more children as the single unemployed mother of six! Here are some HIGHlights:
On how being an only child contributed to her decision to have so many kids:
“I feel as though I was so caught up with my own childish desires to compensate. I’ve always coveted that connection, that attachment to another being. And the connection felt safer with children than with a significant other, more predictable. The security—I was hungering for the security.”
On feeling any regret:
“We’re surviving. We’re so busy going, going, going, moving, moving, moving, trying to keep up that you don’t have time to think, to reflect, to feel anything. And it is a choice. I own all of the responsibility for my poor choices in the past. Do I regret [it]? You can’t regret children. But the choices were childish. They were immature. They were selfish. Are we defined by our choices? Our behavior? Our actions? No. I don’t believe that defines our worth.
“I feel as though I wasn’t thinking at that time. If I could go back, would I make different choices? Maybe. At this point, I know and I need to teach my children that we need to learn, we need to grow, we need to keep on growing and transcending, and we need to make the best possible choices. And when we make poor choices, all you can do is really, really learn from that and grow from that. Try not to repeat it.”
On having more children:
“At this point in my life, that is the furthest thing that I would ever even imagine. I cannot grow additional eyes or hands. I’m not an octopus. I can barely give them — nobody could, not two people, not four people even could give them — all the emotional, psychological and physical needs.”
On her guilt:
“I live every single day every hour of the day with a tremendous amount of guilt. And I feel guilty when I hold the one or two and then that I can’t be there for the others. And they’re crying. And then I feel guilty. Look at the older ones. They all have different unique needs. And I’ll live with this forever. But all I can do now is keep on going, keep moving.”
On providing for her kids:
“I will do anything in my power to secure what I need to, on my own, without exploiting my children, to secure revenue so I can provide that. I know that sounds selfish, but I breathe for my children. I wake up for my children. I will do anything to secure the revenue on my own to provide for these kids.”
Best of luck, lady!
But we think you have one difficult life ahead of you along with all 14 of your children!
